Planning on booking group and/or individual transportation for spring travels?  The following updates show the latest requirements regarding public transportation mandates, air travel mandates, and rideshare surcharges.

TSA Extends Mask Mandate for Public Transportation

Last Thursday, the U.S. Transportation Security Administration announced that it has extended the mask mandate for public transportation and transportation hubs for one month. The extension was based on a recommendation from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

IATA Wants Intra-EU Travel Restrictions Dropped

The International Air Travel Association (IATA) and Airports Council International (ACI International) have requested that all remaining COVID restrictions applying to intra-EU and Schengen zone travel are dropped. This includes ending mask-wearing for travel within or between States where it is no longer required in other indoor environments, ending testing requirements, and the need to present proof of vaccination or complete a passenger locator form (PLF).

Uber and Lyft Add Fuel Surcharge

Starting March 16, Uber added a 45- or 55-cent fuel surcharge on most rides. The charge amount depends on location, the company announced Friday. The surcharges will be based off the average trip distance and the increase in gas prices in each state. Lyft, this past Monday, also confirmed its plans to add a temporary fuel surcharge to its rides.
