St. Louis’s Washington Avenue is gaining a major new destination this fall with Wash Ave Food Hall at 1122 Washington Avenue. Recent progress includes the launch of Wash Ave Social and the hiring of General Manager Zachary Johnson.

Wash Ave Social features four reservable indoor turf “Lawns” for interactive games such as cornhole, bocce, ladder toss, and putting. Each Lawn accommodates groups of up to eight players for hour-long sessions and supports friend gatherings, date nights, families, corporate events, leagues, and private parties. Guests can order via QR code, share tabs, and receive food and drinks from multiple vendors delivered directly to their Lawn — eliminating lines and interruptions.

“The goal is to remove the friction that can come with organizing a group outing,” said Jeremy Barker, CEO of FIRETEN Hospitality, in a recent press release. “Everyone can find something they want, food and drinks come to the group, and people can stay engaged with each other and the experience.”

The broader Food Hall will include six full-kitchen concepts, two specialty options, bars, a PourMyBeer self-pour wall, shared spaces, and an indoor-outdoor area with a retractable roof. Confirmed partners include 4 Hands Brewing Company, Steve’s Smash, Maci’s BBQ, and Little BAO.

Zachary Johnson, a Disney College Program alum with extensive St. Louis hospitality experience, will oversee operations, guest experience, staffing, events, and Wash Ave Social. He emphasizes creating a warm, inclusive space that encourages repeat visits. “Washington Avenue has a history and an energy that people remember, and we have an opportunity to create something with broad appeal that brings people together and gives them another reason to spend their time locally,” said Johnson in a recent statement.

Developed by Oliver Properties and operated by FIRETEN Hospitality, the project aims to become a flexible dining, drinking, and social hub in St. Louis’s most walkable neighborhood. Opening is planned for Fall 2026.
