In February 2018, Vacation Express launched new nonstop charter flights between Kansas City International Airport and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The new route became Kansas City’s third international route and was the first-ever nonstop service between Kansas City and Punta Cana.
In addition to the return of summer nonstops to Punta Cana, Vacation Express just announced two new sunny destinations in Mexico, Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, for seasonal service. The new flights will be part of six-night packages offered by Vacation Express. For travelers who already have a place to stay, air-only is available.
Cancun service will run Sundays, February 16 to April 5, 2020 and Saturdays, May 23 to August 1, 2020. Puerto Vallarta service will run Sundays, February 16 to March 15, 2020 and May 24 to August 2, 2020. Punta Cana service will return to run Fridays, May 22 to July 31, 2020.
“The demand for air travel from Kansas City to Mexico’s top leisure destinations is incredibly strong,” said Kansas City Director of Aviation Pat Klein. “We are extremely thankful for Vacation Express’ commitment to expanding their flight schedule from Kansas City International Airport.”
The Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Vacation Express, Kevin Hernandez, commented, “We are excited about adding more flights from Kansas City; we know Puerto Vallarta will become as popular a destination this winter as Cancun. With the introduction of these new nonstop flights alongside the return of our Punta Cana program, Vacation Express now offers a variety of exotic international destinations for Kansas City travelers.”
The weekly charter flights to Cancun will be operated by VivaAerobus and Volaris on Airbus jet aircraft. The Puerto Vallarta route will be operated by VivaAerobus and Punta Cana will continue to be operated by Miami Air International, featuring 737-800 aircraft.
