Welcome to Unity Village, a haven nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes of western Missouri. Located just 15 miles from downtown Kansas City, this venue space offers an extraordinary setting for meetings and events that truly elevate the experience. A Location of Peace and Unity
First established in 1919 as an oasis full of orchards and farmland, Unity Village is a perfect blend of tranquility and harmony that everyone can experience once they first step on campus. A private property but open to the public, Unity is home to the largest fountain installation in the Kansas City area, a nine-hole golf course, a 2.4-mile nature trail, breathtaking rose gardens, a large paver labyrinth, three Airbnbs, and an award-winning hotel and conference center. And if you’re just passing through the area, you can even stop by the campus to take pictures of the gorgeous Mediterranean-style architecture.
Versatile and Flexible Accommodations
With its charming backdrops, Unity Village is the premiere venue for meetings and events. “We host a lot of different events [like] corporate retreats, corporate outings, one-day training meetings, [and] multi-day training meetings. And then we also do executive meetings and board meetings,” expresses Angel Smith, Unity Village Senior Events Manager.
Whether you have a small or large gathering, Unity Village offers ample opportunities for flexible meeting and event space to fit your needs. “We have the boutique hotel so people can plan multiple-day retreats, and then we have our conference room that can be split into four different sections. Or, they can use our training rooms as breakout sessions,” explains Smith. “They can [utilize the] indoors and outdoors, so [they’re] not stuck in a room all day. We’ll sometimes have groups that will host a meeting, but then they’ll do a team building golf outing in the afternoon at our golf course.”
There are over 10 different meeting spaces of varying sizes on campus, with standard audio/visual technology provided, and the largest space can accommodate up to 300 guests. Scheduled to be completed in early 2025, Unity is currently renovating an event center that can hold a capacity of 500 for banquet style and 700 for a seminar. The new event center will also have removable seating to be able to host trade shows.
Uniting for Success
Tammy Garrison, owner of Unwind Fiber Arts, hosted her multi-day Summer Retreat Marketplace at Unity Village and has already rebooked for next year after the retreat’s immense success. “I [also]offered an optional yoga class, and we did that on the grounds outside next to the fountains, which was stunning. [Unity] really does provide a great mix of functionality and beauty.”
