Due to the tremendous strain COVID-19 has inflicted upon DMOs and CVBs, the U.S. Travel Association established a CARES Act resource. This resource contains information about loan eligibility, paycheck protection, unemployment assistance, and business tax provisions.

U.S. Travel stated, “{We have} worked with Civitas Advisors to develop an outline for DMOs planning for recovery funding. The outline includes measures relative to DMO’s existing funding, emergency funding, and new funding. As for new recovery funding, many destinations are advocating for an authorization to create “Self-Help Tourism Recovery Districts.”
