The U.S. hotel industry reported a 19th consecutive week of positive year-over-year comparisons, according to CoStar’s latest data through 22 August. CoStar is a global leading provider of online real estate marketplaces, information and analytics in the property markets.
16-22 August 2026 (percentage change from comparable week in 2025):
- Occupancy: 66.7% (+2.1%)
- Average daily rate (ADR): US$159.11 (+2.3%)
- Revenue per available room (RevPAR): US$106.12 (+4.4%)
Among the Top 25 Markets, San Francisco saw the highest increases in occupancy (+13.2% to US$79.1) and RevPAR (+26.0% to US$165.00).
St. Louis, host of the BMW Championship, reported the largest ADR lift (+11.4% to US$135.43) and the second-highest gains in occupancy (+10.5% to 66.8%) and RevPAR (+23.1% to US$90.53). The BMW Championship, held on Aug. 18-23, took place at Bellerive Country Club in the municipality of Town and Country, Missouri.
Las Vegas registered the steepest declines in occupancy (-17.4% to 60.0%) and RevPAR (-20.0% to US$95.15), while New York City saw the largest ADR drop (-6.8% to US$262.63).
