Porano Pasta Closing

Chef and Owner of Porano Pasta, Gerard Craft, recently announced that Porano will be closing its doors for good on July 31st, 2018.  The award-winning Chef blamed the low levels of customer traffic Porano had been receiving on the lack of business coming from the convention center. “We love downtown and hope they can find a way to bring back all of the amazing convention business we lost this year”, said Craft in a post on Instagram.

Director of Communications Anthony Paraino responded on behalf of Explore Saint Louis–who manage the American Center when he gave the following statement: “As we have pointed out before, the America’s Center Convention Complex needs some vital renovations and improvements to retain longtime business and remain competitive in a very tough industry.”

Hopefully, with the consequences of neglect of the America’s Center being so stark, we will see improvements and an increase in the use of the the convention center.
