Joshua Thompson recently joined VisitCape as Office Administrator. He has lived in Southeast Missouri his entire life and is familiar with many of the great attractions and businesses that he says, “makes Cape home.” His passion for tourism and economic development began while completing an internship at the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce in the summer of 2021.

His enthusiasm for going above and beyond for guests has not dwindled. In Cape Girardeau, he leads the charge on welcoming Mississippi River cruise boats with his team of local volunteers, known as paddlewheelers. Josh also coordinates tours of local downtown Cape Girardeau attractions and loves to be the first person that visitors see when they stop by the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau for brochures, questions about the area, and recommendations for things to do.
