MERCY NURSE TO LEAD NATION’S NURSES
Knodel joins other Mercy leaders in top roles of national health care organizations.
CENTRAL, U.S. – Linda Knodel, vice president and chief nursing officer of Mercy’s Springfield, Mo., region, was named president-elect of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) for 2013. Knodel is the latest in a long list of Mercy leaders to be at the helm of key health care groups.
“We have incredible talent across Mercy, and this is just one more indication that we have leaders who not only provide excellent direction within Mercy but also give freely of their time to make a difference in health care everywhere,” said Lynn Britton, president and CEO of Mercy. “Our leaders have a can-do spirit that greatly reflects our Sisters of Mercy heritage.”
Knodel, a registered nurse for nearly 40 years with a long list of credentials – MHA, MSN, CPHQ, NE-BC, FACHE – was selected by vote of AONE’s more than 8,500 members. A Wharton nursing executive fellow, Knodel earned a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn., and a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D. She also recently published a book, “Nurse to Nurse: Nursing Management.”
