Missouri Meetings & Events Welcomes Intern
Missouri Meetings & Events welcomes intern Teresa Adams to its staff. Adams earned a certificate of specialization in Foundations of Travel and Tourism in December 2009 from Forest Park Community College. In December 2010, Adams will graduate with an associate’s degree in Travel & Tourism. Next semester she plans to attend Fontbonne University and work toward a B.A. in Entertainment & Sports Management. Her interests include cooking and sports. She travels frequently to watch collegiate basketball, and her favorite baseball team is the St. Louis Cardinals. Adams greatly appreciates the experience and knowledge she has gained by working with the staff at Missouri Meetings & Events. She looks forward to putting that knowledge to use in her future endeavors.
MEIRINK NAMED DIRECTOR OF VISITOR AND VOLUNTEER SERVICES
The St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission (CVC) promoted Karen Meirink to the position of Director of Visitor and Volunteer Services. Meirink is responsible for recruiting and training a volunteer staff of more than 300. She oversees six visitor centers in the region, including two at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, and individual centers at Kiener Plaza, St. Louis Union Station, Forest Park and the America’s Center convention complex. She also ensures that CVC staff and volunteers have the latest information on attractions, events and activities in the community and provide guests with outstanding customer service. Prior to joining the CVC in 2004, Meirink was the Manager of Leisure Marketing for Drury Hotels’ group of St. Louis properties, and served as manager of the chain’s national group sales effort. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and is a member of the St. Louis Attractions Association and Metropolitan Volunteer Management Association.
Overland Park CVB announcesnew Director of Sports Alliance
The Overland Park Convention and Visitors Bureau (OPCVB) announced that Justin Stine joined its team as Director of the Overland Park Sports Alliance. Stine comes to Overland Park from Branson, where he served as a meeting, sports and convention sales manager for the Branson Lakes Area CVB. Stine graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.S. in hotel and restaurant management. He has hotel experience, worked as a pitching coach and played majorleague baseball for the Toronto Blue Jays organization.
Springfield CVB announces New Partner Development Manager
The Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureauhired Melissa Divincen as a new partner development manager. Divincen is responsible for advertising sales in bureau publications and on the Web site. She also manages the Marketing Partnership Program, which provides CVB services for businesses outside Springfield city limits. She comes to the bureau from a position as assistant director of the Greater Springfield Area Sports Commission, an organization managed by the CVB. Divincen, a native of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., has a degree in business marketing from Drury University.
Chateau On The Lake Resort, Spa & Convention Center Names Culton Director of Sales & Marketing
Cinda Culton has joined the AAA Four-Diamond Chateau on the Lake Resort, Spa & Convention Center in Branson, Missouri, as Director of Sales & Marketing. In her new position, Culton oversees sales and marketing efforts and the sales team for the 301-room resort. A 19-year hospitality industry veteran with extensive sales and marketing experience, Culton served for six years with Vail Resorts and held the position of area director of sales & marketing. In that position she was responsible for overseeing sales and marketing for four resort facilities: Jackson Lake Lodge, Colter Bay Village, the Four-Diamond Jenny Lake Lodge, and the Four-Diamond Snake River Lodge & Spa. Prior to that, she worked with MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas.
Camden on the Lake Announces New Additions
Camden on the Lake Resort, Spa & Yacht Club announced Renee Price as western region sales manager. A Missouri native, Price has history and experience with the Lake of the Ozarks region and has been planning events in the area for more than four years. Price joined the team in May and will be on site primarily assisting planners from the Kansas City, Columbia and Springfield areas.
In addition, Nicole Kever has accepted a position as director of sales. Kever has a business degree with an emphasis in entertainment management from Missouri State University. She has been involved in sales and catering in the hospitality industry for more than 8 years in addition to experience in fund raising, public relations and consulting. Kever is currently a member of Meeting Professionals International- St. Louis Chapter, Missouri Society of Association Executives, Society of Government Meeting Professionals, Missouri Travel Council, and Tri-County

KEMP AUTO MUSEUM ANNOUNCES PROMOTION AND ADDITIONS TO STAFF
The Kemp Auto Museum announced the recent promotion of Lisa Roberts to director of events for the museum and its special events division, Kemp Museum Services. Roberts has been with the museum for the past three and a half years, serving as a senior event coordinator. Currently a resident of west St. Louis County, Roberts graduated from Maryville University with a bachelor of science degree in marketing. Before joining the Kemp Auto Museum as an event coordinator, Roberts completed a marketing internship with Purchase Partners. Roberts’ professional affiliations include MPI and ISES, and she is active with the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce.
In addition, Mike Dyer has been named assistant curator at the museum. Prior to this new position, Dyer served as a volunteer for executive director Rodger Van Ness and curator Terry Trowbridge. Dyer is a graduate of Ranken Technical College in St. Louis. He graduated in May of 2009 with an associate’s in the field of automotive maintenance technology. Besides his work at the Kemp Auto Museum, Mike is also active on the local vintage VW scene, and he is active in antique and car restoration forums both locally and worldwide.
