CITRON JOINS GREATER SPRINGFIELD AREA SPORTS COMMISSION

Citron John

John Citron has joined the Greater Springfield Area Sports Commission as Executive Director. Citron is the former director of the Tallahassee (Fla.) Sports Council, a division of the Tallahassee Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. Citron’s experience also includes serving as interim president of the Tallahassee Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, interim executive director of the Leon County (Fla.) Tourist Development Council, sports program manager for the Governor’s Council on Fitness and Sports in Florida, and positions with other sports and event planning organizations.

Citron has a master’s degree in physical education with emphasis in sports administration and a bachelor’s degree in business management from Florida State University.

SCIENCE CENTER’S DOUG KING NAMED TO GIANT SCREEN CINEMA ASSOCIATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) has named Saint Louis Science Center President & CEO Doug King to its Board of Directors. King was one of eight new members appointed, joining 11 other GSCA board members. His two-year term began at the commencement of the European Film Expo board meeting on March 3, 2008. King is the only representative from a Missouri museum or giant-screen entity to be selected for the GSCA’s Board of Directors.

STEVEN BECKER FINE DINING ANNOUNCES NEW STAFF AND PROMOTIONS

The catering sales division at Steven Becker Fine Dining recently added Micki Keim as a Catering Sales Manager. She joins the Steven Becker Fine Dining team with nearly 10 years of event planning experience. Having worked for regional charities such as Life Skills, the Special Education Foundation and various Masonic organizations, Keim has planned everything from golf tournaments to spectacular gala events, raising more than $1 million for St. Louis causes. She graduated from the University of Missouri – St. Louis with a B.A. in Mass Communications.

UTLEY APPOINTED DIRECTOR OF SALES AT TWO PREMIER OZARK PROPERTIES

Lance Utley has been appointed Director of Sales at the Country Club Hotel and Spa and The Resort at Port Arrowhead in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. He will be assisting already strong sales offices to work jointly for both properties. Lance has worked in the hotel business for more than 13 years. He has been a member of the sales teams at the Marina Bay Resort at the Lake, The Inn at Grand Glaize in Osage Beach, and the Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort in Lake Ozark. In 2003, he returned to The Inn at Grand Glaize as the Director of Sales.

EVANS NAMED DIRECTOR OF SALES AT STONEBRIDGE RESORT

Melissa Evans has been named Director of Sales at StoneBridge Resort in Branson, MO. Previously, Melissa was the Director of Sales of Historic Landmark Hotels, which included the 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa, the 1905 Basin Park Hotel and The Gavioli Chapel, all located in Eureka Springs, AR. Melissa earned her degree in Hospitality and Restaurant Management at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. She has been a board member of the Northwest Arkansas Tourism Association & Northwest Arkansas Hospitality Association. She has also served on a variety of local Chamber of Commerce committees. She was nominated for Manager of the Year by the Arkansas Hospitality Association in 2006. She currently serves on the TTMC Meetings & Conventions Sub-Committee at the Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce.
