The purpose of Pennsylvania-based CSPI is to “enhance the collaboration and partnership between sales professionals of convention centers and destination marketing organizations, by delivering education, developing best practices and tracking industry trends worldwide.”
Formerly known as the Association for Convention Sales and Marketing Executives, the organization works to foster cooperation among convention sales professionals and conference centers, hotels and destination marketing organizations. It works to drive awareness of the importance of conventions and other large meetings to cities and regions.
CSPI helps advance its members’ industry acumen through year-round programs and events that offer continuing education, networking, knowledge exchange, and peer social interaction. Monthly member conference calls help participants stay up-to-date on industry issues, effective practices and important trends.
CSPI also strives to help its members accomplish their career and personal development goals. It offers seminars and webinars, and educational sessions at events such as its annual conference, which next takes place in March 2017 in Washington, D.C.
