According to the final PULSE survey of 2021, meeting planners are continuing to book group business despite the Omicron variant.  In fact, the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reported today that there are no deaths attributed to the new variant to date.

The survey suggests that this new variant has had a lesser impact than the Delta variant in terms of bookings.  More than 50% of meeting planners are planning to hold their next in-person or hybrid event at the beginning of 2022.

These results are based on 615 planner responses collected from Nov. 23 to Dec. 8 (223 planner respondents before November 28th, when Omicron was first announced, and 392 planner respondents after).  The findings show that there are very few differences in before and after booking activity.
