After two years of construction, The Ritz Carlton, St. Louis held a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the opening of its new restaurant, Casa don Alfonso, to ladies and gentlemen on Sunday, March 21st. Inspired by the traditions passed down for generations in the family homes of southern Italy, this restaurant blends the culture and beauty of the Mediterranean with the finest hospitality and service.
A Brief History
A family with four generations in the hospitality industry, the Iaccarinos opened Don Alfonso 1890 in the heart of Sant’ Agata, Italy, creating what is today an internationally recognized two Michelin star restaurant with iterations all over the world. Mario Iaccarino now brings all of the best of his family’s flagship to a more casual setting in St. Louis with the relaxed atmosphere and charm of Casa Don Alfonso. His vision, inspired by the hills, waters, tastes, colors, and philosophy of Italy, is found in every aspect of the food, drink, ambiance, and service. Chef de cuisine Sergio Chierego honors the culinary heritage of the Campania region, with seasonal ingredients that closely resemble the sun-kissed produce harvested at the Iaccarino family’s farm.
