In late January, developers announced the upcoming opening of the $150 million Margaritaville Hotel in Kansas City, Kansas, slated for Spring 2025. The project, a collaboration between Sunflower Development Group LLC and HomeField KC, will feature an outdoor resort-style pool, an indoor pool, and entertainment and retail spaces, including the Landshark Bar and various other dining and bar options.

The 229-room hotel is a key part of the expansive $848 million Homefield Masterplan, which is being constructed on the former Schlitterbahn Waterpark site at the intersection of Interstate 70 and Interstate 435. Construction is already in progress.

Additionally, developers plan to launch an eight-field, all-turf baseball complex and continue developing the $60 million Homefield Wyandotte facility. This indoor sports complex will include interchangeable courts suitable for basketball, volleyball, and other sports.

This project was initially proposed to the Unified Government’s Board of Commissioners in early 2021, outlining a transformative vision for the area.
