The Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau (JCCVB) is partnering with Capitol City CORK and Provisions (CORK) to launch a charitable giving campaign, #LOVEJC, to support the Jefferson City business community. The goal of the #LOVEJC campaign is to raise money for local businesses feeling the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our hearts go out to the businesses in our community hurting right now. We want to do everything we can to minimize the financial burdens they are feeling,” said JCCVB Executive Director Diane Gillespie.
“I am so grateful that Visit Jefferson City was willing to partner with us on this venture. This is an extremely challenging time for all small businesses in Jefferson City. While businesses are having to navigate this situation independently, I thought that this campaign could help build a community in a time when everyone is feeling isolated, both physically and mentally. However you choose to support the local business scene in the days and weeks to come, remember that by doing so, you’re not just helping the owners — you’re also helping their employees, their suppliers and the Jefferson City economy as a whole,” stated Cara Alexander, co-partner of CORK.
Individuals interested in contributing to the campaign can purchase a Jefferson City t-shirt. A portion of the proceeds will go to the business of the buyer’s choice. T-shirts can be purchased at the JCCVB website. The purchaser is required to indicate which business they would like to support; the business must be located in Cole County.
T-shirts can be picked up at 700 E. Capitol Ave, Jefferson City, MO 65101 from May 4-8, as the JCCVB recognizes National Travel and Tourism Week and the supporters of this campaign. Other arrangements can be made by emailing info@visitjeffersoncity.com.
