For 99% of people, planning for tomorrow is an involuntary action. For those of us in the meeting and event industry, it’s our lifeblood. In reading the article “Looking Ahead” by Heather McNeill on page 29, I can only agree with, “we have to be ready for change.”
Staying informed, or “well read” as dad used to say, should be a cornerstone for all of us. Networking with industry partners is a great place to further develop and discover new suppliers. Getting good advice today ensures better planning tomorrow.
The main reason Missouri Meetings & Events and other industry partners are hosting the 2012 Meet Business exchange (MBE) in Kansas City is to help you plan. If you’re a planner looking for suppliers who want your business in 2012, then the Meet Business Exchange is for you. The format will be the same as the two previous exchanges. With a satisfaction rate of more than 95% from both planners and suppliers, you’ll want to be part of this event.
Once you are registered (see form on page 13), we will match you up with the suppliers you have requested for your face-to-face, by-appointment-only exchange. Here are the details:
2012 Meet Business Exchange
Wednesday, December 14, 2012
Aladdin Hotel in Downtown Kansas City
11:00 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
I encourage you to bring your RFPs for 2012 and beyond. The more detail you can provide suppliers about your future events the better. At the exchange, you also will enjoy valuable networking, a fabulous lunch and guest speaker.
Finally, I am pleased to announce that the 2012 Missouri Meetings & Events Directory will be released this December. Planners, this directory is your one stop shop for Missouri’s top meeting and event suppliers. Are you a supplier who wants to be included in this directory? Time is running out! Call our office immediately at (314) 781-8880 and speak with Vikki to find out how you can get in!
I hope you enjoy exploring this issue, and from the entire staff at Missouri Meetings & Events, we wish you a happy and safe holiday season!
