Sean Lynch, President of NHS Global Events, moderated the State of the Industry: Las Vegas webinar, which focused on what measures Las Vegas has taken to bring back corporate/group business. In addition, three panelists from the city’s convention and visitors bureau, resorts, and hotels discussed their short- and long-term industry outlooks.
Chris Meyer, VP of Global Sales for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, set the tone by introducing a new, electrifying video showing the lights of Vegas dramatically coming back on.
Meyer says the “Vegas Smart” program was adopted “to ensure the wellbeing of guests and that health protocols are in place by hotels, airlines, and attractions.”
Stephanie Glanzer, Sr. VP & Chief Sales Officer for MGM Resorts International, said “MGM is looking at doing things differently, more efficiently and safely, including using expedited check-in with mobile devices. And developing new food-and-beverage experiences for larger gatherings.”
Rebecca DeLuca, Director of Key Accounts & Strategic Partnerships at Caesars Entertainment, noted that openings of other properties across the country provided guidance for their properties in Las Vegas. Caesars will conduct temperature checks at check-in, incorporate enhanced cleaning procedures and have an epidemiologist on staff to align protocols with the state health department.
