Kansas City continues to position itself as a top-tier destination for meetings and conventions, with major transportation upgrades on the horizon that will make exploring the city more seamless than ever.

The Kansas City Streetcar, already popular for its free, easy-to-ride service through downtown, recently completed a 3.5-mile southern extension in 2025, adding 16 new stops and connecting riders to key attractions and event hubs, including The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, UMKC, and the Country Club Plaza.

In 2026, a 0.7-mile northern extension will link the Streetcar to the Berkley Riverfront, offering access to expanded greenspace and the new CPKC Stadium, home to Kansas City’s professional women’s soccer team, the KC Current.

These improvements will give planners and attendees even greater access to hotels, event venues, cultural sites, and after-hours entertainment, making Kansas City one of the most connected and event-ready cities in the Midwest.
