HCW LLC and the City of Manhattan, KS have begun construction on an additional 11,550 SF of convention space to the current 30,000 SF Hilton Garden Manhattan Conference Center. The development is located along South 3rd Street, just off Route 18 in the Downtown Entertainment District of Manhattan, KS.
The 11,550 SF addition includes 8,700 SF of meeting space, including a large 3,375 SF meeting room and three additional rooms averaging 1,300 SF. When the conference center is configured as one large ballroom, the existing corridor becomes part of the overall grand ballroom for an additional 1,750 SF +/-. The addition also includes expanding the pre-convention corridors along the new meeting space. This expansion in to be completed by winter 2020.
Rick Huffman, HCW’s President & CEO stated “We are very excited the convention center and hotel have been so successful to warrant this expansion. When complete it will be the best facility and nicest rooms west of Kansas City.”
Following the start of the conference center expansion, construction will begin on expanding the 135 room Hilton Garden Inn. An impressive 40 rooms will be added to the hotel, and a full remodel of the existing rooms and Lobby, making the 175-room hotel the largest in Manhattan, KS.
The project team includes HCW and the City of Manhattan, BRP Architect out of Springfield, MO and Crossland Construction.
