(ST. CHARLES, MO) – Global Spectrum, managers of the St. Charles Convention Center, have hired Bill Nicely as the new Director of Sales and Marketing. Nicely will be in charge of overseeing all sales and marketing operations at the 154,000 sq. ft. facility including prospecting, booking, contracts, and sales reporting. In addition, he will oversee all marketing aspects, including facility marketing plans, budgets, and advertising efforts.
Nicely, who is originally from Chicago, IL, has over 10 years of convention center sales and hospitality industry experience. He has served as the Director of National Accounts in St. Louis at America’s Center, the Director of Sales for Navy Pier Festival Hall with the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau, and has worked as a sales manager for several major hotel chains including Hyatt Regency St. Louis and Chicago, Embassy Suites, Sheraton City Center, and the Millennium. He also previously was a sales manager at the St. Charles Convention Center from 2005 – 2007.
During the last four years, he served as the Director of Sales for the National Hardwood Flooring Association, a 4,000 plus member trade organization, and was responsible for all functions and staff within the membership department.

Nicely has studied at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and Lindenwood University in the fields of radio, television, and communications and is also an active member of Meeting Planners International (MPI). He currently resides in Chesterfield, MO with his wife.
