By Mattie Yallaly, GBTA St. Louis Vice President
“Summer in St. Louis” holds a special meaning for many. From the excitement of Cardinals baseball to the tranquil beauty of the Missouri Botanical Garden, this area truly provides entertainment and relaxation options for everyone. As travel picks up again, knowing the destination opportunities is a key component for successful group outings.
The GBTA St. Louis chapter not only designs events that introduce members to these exceptional locations, but also provides means to develop relationships. Industry professionals – both buyers and suppliers – interact equally as a team to problem solve, create, and strengthen each other as changes and challenges continually come about.
A valuable piece of that partnership is United Airlines. Represented by Ryan Jandak, United Airlines’ support and involvement plays an integral part in the continuing education offered through our membership. Over the past year, as the COVID-19 pandemic challenged us all to rethink standards and policies, United Airlines has been at the forefront of new cleanliness standards, flight credit updates, and policy modifications.
Ryan Jandak, Sales Manager for United Airlines since July 2017, previously spent four-plus years with Sales in various industries. There is no doubt that the travel industry has become a passion for him unlike any other. Upon starting at United Airlines, he focused on Meetings Sales and maintained travel management companies that specialize in meeting and incentive travel. In 2019, he moved into a new role, managing the corporate travel customers in his respective territory. Ryan was born and raised in the Chicagoland area and now resides in New Lenox, a south suburb of the city. His wife Kelly also works at United Airlines in Human Resources, and they both love traveling the world and experiencing new cultures. They have a (teddy bear) dog named Cooper, who loves to join them on most of their adventures.
