Selecting a proficient restaurant with
an inviting ambiance is not always the
easiest decision to make when planning
an event. Favazza’s Restaurant on the Hill
in St. Louis, MO, makes this selection
process much simpler by providing a
pleasurable atmosphere with ample
meeting and event space, just a few miles
from downtown and Clayton.

“We have hosted meetings and events
for business groups from every walk of
life,” said John Favazza, owner.

Favazza’s hosts 500 successful events
a year, ranging from corporate business
meetings to parties and banquets.
Favazza’s eagerly accommodates groups by
customizing menus and setups according
to groups’ expectations. Multiple Favazza
family members are present during these
events to make sure details are completed
according to plan, and to personally
meet and greet guests, creating a more
comfortable and welcoming environment.

Just down the street from the
restaurant, Favazza’s offers a spectacular
event space, Rose of the Hill, a spacious
venue designed specifically for banquets
and receptions.

VERSAT ILITY SERVED FRESH
The Catholic Health Association has
used both Favazza’s Restaurant and Rose
of the Hill Banquet Center for several of
its business meetings and events. Adele
Gianino, event planner for the association,
said that Favazza’s and Rose of the Hill
always meets the needs of her events.

“Rose of the Hill is just a beautiful
venue. It is very versatile; you can do
anything from a theater-style presentation
to a standard reception to a seated awards
banquet. The food is always great. It feels
like you are at home,” Gianino said.
Delectable Italian flavors come from
the recipes created by the owner himself,
along with his brother Tony.

“Tony is just a wonderful chef; he is
always open to ideas and is always willing
to share with you his best practices,”
Gianino said.

Tony and John Favazza have been
operating the kitchen since day one of
the restaurant’s existence. Recently their
nephew Mark joined in; the three of them
oversee the recipes and guide the food
preparations. They have an entire staff
that has been dedicated to exceptional
service for many years.

The chefs are able to adjust to the same
special dietary needs that they meet every
day at the restaurant. These special diets
include vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free
products. John explained that particular
needs have become a trend at his
restaurant over the years.

“Most people are looking for lighter,
fresher and better tasting products and
that’s why we introduced our own herb
garden,” he said.

The dining experience at Favazza’s
Restaurant and Rose of the Hill
Banquet Center stands apart from other
restaurants because they are able to
personalize an event for almost any size
group, from 5 up to 500.

“We cook for our groups like we cook
for individuals in the dining room. Each
dish is cooked fresh to order,” John said.

Also, the restaurant’s prime location in
central St. Louis attracts people from all
over the metropolitan area.

Lois Bax plans several Favazza’s events
a year for Central Bank. She organizes
groups of 50 to 100 people from Jefferson
City and takes them to the Fox Theatre
after enjoying a delicious meal at Favazza’s.

“We love the Hill; we love the Favazzas
because of how well they treat our groups.
The food is wonderful and they get us in
and out in time for the theater,” Bax said.

Bax stressed the fact that John Favazza
is very easy to work with, and explained
how this attribute is very crucial when
planning events. She also commented
that the flavor of the food is exceptional
and that the portions are ample.

While offering exceptional meeting
and event space, Favazza’s caters off-site
events as well. It was recently named an
exclusive caterer to Forest Park’s World’s
Fair Pavilion, St. Louis Ambassadors’
Cabanne House and the Forest Park Jewel
Box. Favazza’s also serves the Anheuser-
Busch Conference Center at the Soccer
Park in Fenton.

ROOM TO GROW
An addition that has been a great
success is Favazza’s new patio garden.
The patio seats up to 120 guests. It is
an open air patio, but can be used year
round because it can close and has a
heating system and fireplace.

“This new addition has meant increased
business for us because people looking for
outside dining can now come to us,” John
Favazza said. MM&E
