Missouri Meetings & Events’ main “raison d’etre” is to unite planner professionals with venues and service providers that can help them serve their clients more creatively. To that end, MM&E presents a variety of complimentary familiarization tours during the year.
In October 2016, the “place to be” was the lovely Wildwood Hotel in Wildwood, Mo., a western suburb of St. Louis.
A boutique property with 109 sleeping rooms, the Wildwood Hotel offers meeting space, relaxing guest experiences, enticing dining options, and a location that’s close to other key services.
Guests of MM&E’s October 13 FAM event enjoyed delights addressing all the senses. Upon arrival, they were ushered to the Wildwood’s 3,300-square-foot Augusta Room, a romantic, high-ceilinged space with a balcony and lovely strung lighting. They visited the hotel’s other charming meeting spaces as well, including the 870-square-foot Manchester Room; 950-square-foot Babler Room; 1,560-square-foot Chesterfield Room; 1,975-square-foot Ballwin Room; and 5,350-square-foot Wildwood Ballroom, which is divisible and can accommodate up to 300 seated guests.
Senior corporate sales manager Mary McCulloch and her staff welcomed FAM attendees in the Augusta Room, where live musical entertainment and the aroma of culinary delights enticed them to even greater enjoyment.
Hotel staff created a special dessert station treating attendees to house-made Bananas Foster with ice cream, and guests enjoyed beverages from the bar. A variety of passed hors d’oeuvres inspired their appetites as well.
During the evening, guests enjoyed periodic tours of the property’s comfortable guest and suite rooms, some of which include in-room Jacuzzi tubs. The hotel offers special room rates for groups that use its meeting spaces, and there’s a complimentary full breakfast buffet for registered guests.
Planners will find everything they need at the hotel in terms of audio-visual technology and equipment, including screens, projectors, easels, flip charts and more for every meeting and event configuration. Complimentary self parking conveniently surrounds the building.
While your attendees are staying the Wildwood, they’ll be sure to appreciate the on-site fitness room, business center, complimentary WiFi, heated indoor swimming pool, pillow-top mattresses, attractive room décor, and other luxury amenities. The facility features a limited number of pet-friendly rooms as well.
The Wildwood Hotel is located in the Wildwood Town Center, close to major highways and just minutes from attractions such as Six Flags and the Hidden Valley Ski Resort. It’s also convenient to stores, restaurants, a new movie theater, and jogging and cycling paths.
As MM&E’s October FAM guests learned first-hand, the Wildwood Hotel is an ideal retreat for meetings and events that are out-of-the-way but easy to reach.
