On September 6, 2011, the St. Louis Area Hotel Association hosted its 22nd annual golf tournament at the Whitmoor Country Club. SLAHA’s most anticipated event, the Annual SLAHA Golf Tournament is one of the most highly attended golf tournaments in the St. Louis Area. This event includes lunch, an awards dinner and fabulous prizes.
On September 7, 2011, Missouri Meetings & Events staff, family and guests enjoyed an evening at Busch Stadium watching the soon to be 2011 World Series Champions, the St. Louis Cardinals. On September 15, 2011, Ruth’s Chris Steak House Downtown St. Louis hosted a planner forum for Missouri Meetings & Events readers. The evening included beautiful and delicious fare, networking and a tour of the restaurant’s various meeting spaces.
On October 20, 2011, The Coronado Ballroom and Meeting Facility hosted an open house for planners. The evening included a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility, creative and delicious culinary selections, and a special presentation by Rob Schaefer offering planners holiday inspiration. The event was free, however, planners brought canned goods to donate to Food Outreach in St. Louis. With the Cardinals playing a postseason game that evening on their road to the World Series, some planners displayed their support!
On September 18, 2011, Missouri Meetings & Events participated in the St. Louis Area Hotel Association’s first annual volleyball tournament at The St. Louis Jewish Community Center. When the St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers earned their way into the 2011 World Series, the St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission staff made a friendly bet. Fortunately for Saint Louis, the President & CEO of the Arlington CVB, Jay Burress made good on the friendly wager by holding up an “I Love the Cardinals” sign.
