eXplore Lawrence is happy to announce new tools and resources available to event planners who host events in Lawrence, Kansas. These tools were purchased as a part of eXplore Lawrence’s Responsible Tourism Program, funded by CARES Act grant funds, to help attract events that produce overnight stays to Lawrence and keep event attendees safe.
Items that are available include:
- Face masks
- Individual Hand Sanitizers
- Social Distancing and Directional Floor Decals
- Safety Banners
- Contactless Forehead Thermometers
- HD Webcams for Hybrid Events
These items can be viewed on the Plan a Safe Event landing page. In addition to these tools, the landing page links to the Lawrence Promise, where event planners can browse the 200+ businesses and organizations who have signed a commitment to follow safety practices to best protect employees and visitors from the spread of COVID-19. Event planners will also find a link to the COVID-19 Visitor Dashboard which gives a snapshot of the current situation in Lawrence, from case numbers to travel restrictions and local mandates.
“The health and safety of our community and guests are our number one priority,” said Kendra Brayfield, eXplore Lawrence Director of Sales. “These items serve as incentives to event planners, it gives them fewer things to worry about in their planning process. Our ultimate goal is to help stimulate the visitor economy in Lawrence which has suffered greatly over the life of the pandemic, and to do so safely and responsibly.”
