Representing 103,500 event professionals globally, the Event Industry Council (EIC) is one of the largest event industry organizations that influences the industry’s professional recognition and standards. This organization has created several accreditations and programs that foster leadership and knowledgeability among event professionals.
The EIC launched and maintains the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) program, the Certified Meeting Professional Healthcare (CMP-HC) subspecialty, and the Accepted Practices Exchange (APEX) Commission. It also upholds the Preferred Provider Program, which supplies continuing education courses to CMPs.
This organization also provides several resources for designation holders, such as its CMP directory, career center, industry resources, industry glossary, industry studies, webinars, and sustainable event standards guide. Event professionals can discover all the industry tools they need to stay up to date and exemplify the highest level of professionalism.
Additionally, CMPs can apply for multiple awards that recognize their contributions. The Hall of Leaders award is known as the “lifetime achievement award,” and it celebrates professionals who have significantly advanced the industry. The Pacesetter award is given to professionals who reached a benchmark accomplishment, and the IMEX-EIC Innovation in Sustainability award recognizes both planners and suppliers who have achieved greener, more environmentally friendly events.
