After 13 years of Vacancy, the former Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City building could potentially be converted into an Embassy Suites hotel. The company in charge of this $182-million project aims to construct 284 hotel rooms, a parking garage with approximately 450 spaces, and improve upon the surrounding sidewalk, streetscape, and streetlights.
Additionally, this property would include a 40,000-square-foot family entertainment center with virtual reality games below the building, which would make it part of an adjacent four-story annex building. Details about this redevelopment are forthcoming, and it is estimated that the property could open in 2023 if all goes as planned.
