On August 8th, meeting and event planners as well as suppliers had the pleasure to partake in a wonderful client tasting event at the St. Charles Convention Center. After being greeted at the door by Mark Tenholder, General Manager, guests meandered around the grand ballroom to check out the different food items, lovingly displayed across 8 stations around the room. Among the obligatory cheese & charcuterie boards and colossal shrimp cocktail, one could taste the exquisite Chilean sea bass, braised short ribs, chicken tagine, carved rack of lamb & prime rib, and miscellaneous Asian stir fry dishes. Side items ranged from Dauphinoise potatoes and Arancini rice balls to lobster mac ‘n cheese and an assortment of small salads, as well as pan-seared crab cakes. The dessert station had something for everyone, including several vegan cakes. But the highlight of the evening was the highlight of the desserts – wheeled into the room by Chef Jake Alexander himself. Attendees really enjoyed the flambé presentation of Banana Foster with Clementine’s ice cream, especially next to the ice sculpture where one could mix their own drink. The staff at the St. Charles Convention Center truly created an unmatched client tasting event – in hospitality, ambience, and, of course, tasty bites and drinks.
