The Jefferson City Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Athletic Events Committee (AEC) will host their annual AEC fundraiser at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020.
This is the committee’s 19th year hosting the fundraising event. Participants enjoy a dinner while taking part in a big bucks fundraiser and a live and silent auction. The money raised from the fundraiser goes back into supporting local sporting events. This year’s live auction features items such as an autographed Patrick Mahome’s helmet, a BBQ and ghost tour for 40 at the infamous Missouri State Penitentiary, a Concert Inside the Walls package for 10 tickets (dinner, parking, and a tent are included), among other items.
“This fundraiser is one we love putting on each year. It helps us further sports tourism in Jefferson City,” said Austin Rippeto, sports sales manager at the Jefferson City CVB.
The ticket cost is $40 per couple. You can purchase tickets from any AEC member in the community or by calling Austin Rippeto at 573-632-2820.
The Athletic Events Committee is an invaluable group of local residents that volunteer their time and energy for signature sporting events in Jefferson City. Due to their tremendous commitment to the community, Jefferson City has been able to bring many sporting events to the state capital. The group’s goal is to offer sports enthusiasts the perfect place to cheer on their favorite team while enhancing the experience of the athletes and creating a positive economic impact on our community.
Annual sporting events hosted in Jefferson City include the MSHSAA State Track Championship, the Prison Break Race, LSAM State Basketball Tournament, Special Olympic Outdoor Games, Shelbyfest, Missouri River Freedom Race, and many more.
