Rooftop Lounge and Conservatory, a first for Downtown Springfield.
V2 guest rooms and the V2 Conference Room, a new boardroom-style event space, are available to book now. The V2 expansion references the signature style of Historic Hotel Vandivort while establishing its own sophisticated Art Deco aesthetic. Guest rooms offer the same high-end design, local artwork, luxury bedding, and attention to detail as Historic Vandivort alongside amenities found only in V2 such as record players and a variety of vintage vinyl in each room.
Co-Owners Billy McQueary and John and Karen McQueary set the wheels in motion for the expansion in June of 2017. “We are overjoyed at how Springfield has embraced Hotel Vandivort and love being the first taste travelers experience of our beloved area. Our Hotel serves as an ambassador, highlighting many incredible local artists and businesses, and from this we have seen great success, creating the need for more space and expanded amenities,” says Billy McQueary.
The V2 expansion functions as an extension of the current Hotel Vandivort. Guests will continue to check in at the front desk inside the Historic Vandivort building and valet their cars from the Walnut Street entrance. The distance between the north-facing, covered entrance of Historic Vandivort is a mere 25 steps from the south-facing, covered entrance of the new V2 building.
Vantage Rooftop Lounge and Conservatory, located on the rooftop of V2, will open to guests and the public 9.24.19 and will offer a unique experience with unparalleled Queen City views. “Vantage brings a big-city rooftop experience to downtown, a chance to both escape the every-day and be inspired by how
beautiful our city has become. Also, it’s not just for the warm months, with a huge skylight and tons of indoor plants the interior conservatory-style space will lift spirits when it’s frigid out too,” says Karen McQueary.
Vantage Rooftop Lounge and Conservatory features 2,250 square feet of four-season interior space decorated in a European Art Deco style with abundant greenery and a grand skylight that makes up much of the ceiling. The 3,250 square feet of exterior rooftop space will offer sweeping views of downtown from a mix of tables and soft seating, including private cabanas available to be reserved. Vantage patrons will access the rooftop by entering the Southeast door of the V2 building and taking the lobby elevator directly to the top floor.
Historic Hotel Vandivort currently offers 50 well-appointed guest rooms, including seven suites, two high-tech meeting rooms, and the spacious Vandivort Ballroom. Its décor is a contemporary take on a vintage, industrial space with comfortable gathering places in the open-concept lobby and restaurant. The Order, a restaurant that serves a modern take on Missouri cuisine, is situated in Historic Hotel Vandivort’s lobby, also known as “Springfield’s Living Room,” or a cultural hub where both locals and hotel guests gather. The Order was honored in the 2018 Feast 50 Awards as Best Fine/Contemporary Dining, Best Brunch, Best Happy Hour, Best Bar Program, and Best Bartender.
Hotel Vandivort opened in July of 2015 and is the only AAA 4-Diamond rated hotel in Springfield. Hotel Vandivort was named the nation’s 2016 Boutique Hotel of the Year by the Boutique & Lifestyle Lodging Association (BLLA). This award signifies the highest quality of amenities, dining, and lodging experience within the hotel industry. Hotel Vandivort was most recently honored with Springfield Business Journal’s 2019 Economic Impact Award for businesses in operation for 5 years or less for the role it has played as a catalyst for economic growth in Downtown Springfield.
