Springfield, Mo., Sports Commission Hires Assistant Director

Springfield, Mo.The Springfield Sports Commission recently hired a new assistant director.

Sheila Fish’s responsibilities include membership sales and retention, event development and working with organizations and individuals to attract sporting events to the Springfield area.

Prior to joining the Sports Commission, Fish received most of her professional work experience from local nonprofit groups, including Harmony House, James River Basin Partnership, Dickerson Park Zoo and The Discovery Center. She also served as a sales and marketing assistant for Coventry Health Care and continued consumer relations at Nixa Public Schools as a communication intern.

Fish obtained a Master of Arts in Communication from Drury University in 2012 and Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations in 2010 from Missouri State University.
